DML Morning Briefing Fri. Mar. 12: Biden disses Trump and you, Antifa chants against USA, shocking video on border, more!
By Team DML
Today is March 12 and I am Dennis Michael Lynch. Below are my opinions on the stories grabbing headlines this morning. I hope you share this briefing as doing so will make you the smartest person in the room, in my opinion.
1 – Biden threatens to reinstate restrictions, says you may get to celebrate Independence Day
Joe Biden gave a 20-minute video address from the White House Thursday night to mark the one-year anniversary of the date that the World Health Organization officially declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
Then-President Donald Trump had already declared a public health emergency at the end of January 2020 and restricted travel from China, despite criticism from Democrats and Joe Biden himself, at the time. Here’s what Biden tweeted after Trump took action to stop the spread of the coronavirus and ban travel into the US from China:
Thursday night, Biden gave Trump no credit for his record-breaking Operation Warp Speed program, but slammed Trump’s handling of the pandemic, claiming, “A year ago, we were hit with a virus that was met with silence and spread unchecked. Denials for days, weeks, then months. That led to more deaths.”
Biden also told Americans Thursday night he may have to reinstate pandemic restrictions, but if you stick to the rules, you might get to celebrate Independence Day, in some form anyway.
There is a “good chance” people can gather with their close loved ones in their backyards by Independence Day, but that “doesn’t mean large events with lots of people together,” Biden announced.
DML: A real leader takes accountability when he is wrong, and a real leader gives credit to others when credit is due. A real leader does not steal another man’s accomplishments. Joe Biden’s inability to lead, and Joe Biden’s weakness and smallness as a man, was on full display last night when he denied giving credit to President Trump for creating Operation Warp Speed. This should not come as a shock to people on the right. For weeks, Joe has also showed us all how weak he really is by denying the crisis he created at the southern border. Joe, you are so little this morning that playing handball against the curb is now an option.
2 – Fauci: CDC will release new guidance for vaccinated Americans ‘very soon’
The Hill reports: The nation’s top infectious diseases expert Anthony Fauci said Thursday that Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) would issue new guidance in the coming days for Americans who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
In an interview Thursday evening with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, President Biden’s chief medical adviser said that a “series” of announcements would come in the days ahead defining best practices for Americans who have already received one or two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
“They will address travel, they will address workplaces, they will address houses of worship,” Fauci said of the upcoming recommendations. “You’re gonna see that coming out pretty quickly.”
DML: Don’t worry, Fauci is going to give you all your instructions regarding travel, work place, and church. Just wait for your orders, folks. He’ll tell you what you’re allowed to do next.
3 – Ohio county rejects purchase of Dominion voting machines
The Washington Examiner reports: Stark County in Ohio rejected the purchase of more than 1,400 new Dominion Voting Systems machines after local residents rallied against them.
Following the 2020 general election, former President Donald Trump and his allies claimed Dominion machines altered votes despite audits and recounts in several states and counties that used the technology, allegations which have been denied by the company and roundly rejected by the courts.
Still, the effect of their campaign against the technology appears to be taking tangible form, as the Board of Stark County Commissioners voted on Wednesday to go through with a $6.45 million equipment order to replace its old hardware from the vendor, which would be partially covered by the state and trade-in value, rejecting a recommendation by the county’s board of elections.
Constituents voicing issues with purchasing new Dominion machines “far exceeded the response any of us have received on any topic to come before our board,” Commissioner Bill Smith said in February. Smith, along with Commissioners Janet Weir Creighton and Richard Regula, all Republicans, unanimously rejected the purchase of Dominion equipment.
After the country budget director reviewed the offers by Dominion and a competitor, Elections Systems and Software, the board went back to EES, and it made an offer for $143,262 less than the Dominion deal, according to the Cleveland Scene.

4 – Antifa goes on a rampage in Portland
Fox News reports: Downtown Portland, Oregon, erupted in violence yet again Thursday night, drawing tear gas and smoke bombs from federal officers who were deployed to quell the unrest, according to a report.
Rioters set fires and smashed windows in the area of the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse until being driven away by federal officers. The crowd later made a return to the area, managing to break some courthouse windows and set another fire.
Thursday afternoon, at the beginning of their rampage, the Antifa mob marched through the streets of Portland chanting, “No borders. No walls. No USA at all.”
DML: We’re going to have more about this on the DML News App later today. Watch for it!
5 – Video captures hordes of migrants being smuggled into Texas
The New York Post reported: Alarming footage shows a huge line of migrants being smuggled across the Rio Grande into Texas — as Republican leaders slam President Joe Biden for allowing the crisis, which he has insisted doesn’t exist, to spiral out of control.
Tripwires & Triggers host Jaeson Jones — a retired captain with the Texas Department of Public Safety who speaks out about the threat posed by unsecured borders — captured the dramatic video and posted it Thursday on Twitter.
It shows a massive line of people being led down an embankment to the river, where they are placed on rubber dinghies and rowed by masked men across the border into Texas.
DML: Here’s the latest numbers for you:
